The Solution
CS2 have worked with the asset manager and Landlord in a gradual refurbishment and repurposing of the Victorian shopping arcade.
Since undertaking the initial due diligence appraisal of the premises, CS2 have been involved in liaising with the heritage officer to coordinate the design and specification, procurement and contract administration of the following:
– Roof repairs.
– External re-pointing and redecoration.
– Conversion of upper parts to office space.
– Sub-division of retail units providing space for small independent retailers.
– Bedford Borough Council“There is just one empty unit remaining in Bedford’s Old Arcade as three unique new independent shops are opening there in the next two weeks. The range of shops within the Arcade are challenging the role of the high street and creating a new and flourishing narrative within the town centre”
