Our Graduate Scheme is a two-year programme. You will be responsible for undertaking a range of building surveying disciplines received from clients and colleagues across a range of sectors, whilst studying towards your APC.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist colleagues on a range of instructions including building inspections, acquisition surveys, dilapidations, contract administration, maintenance and refurbishment projects, schedules of condition, party wall awards etc.
  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external parties ensuring all information is available for successful implementation and completion of projects.
  • Provide a professional service, form and maintain relationships with all clients and attend networking events and client functions where required.
  • Work towards completing APC as quickly and efficiently as possible
  • Develop relevant knowledge and skills through regular CPD activities and maintain an up-to-date awareness of all necessary legislation affecting the technical aspects of building surveying, sharing knowledge and information where appropriate.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other Company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Prepare and submit relevant administration in a timely and accurate manner, for example timesheets, expenses, database applications etc.
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, and quality management.
  • This is indicative of the role, however, there will be other duties and responsibilities that you may be required to undertake from time to time.

Essential For You To Have;

  • A relevant university degree, or equivalent.
  • Studying towards Chartered RICS Status
  • Have knowledge of common office computer programmes, especially Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of the needs and demands of clients and having will to exceed their expectations
  • Be commercially aware
  • Operate independently under a broad direction
  • Prioritise workload, planning ahead as required
  • Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work individually or in a team
  • Motivated and professional with the drive to succeed
  • You must have attention to detail and illustrate accuracy, enthusiasm, a diplomatic attitude and be reliable

CS2 are now seeking a Building Surveyor’s to join the team in our London, Bristol and Birmingham office. CS2 deal within a variety of different markets within construction including retail and industrial, to residential and defence.

Ideally they are looking for someone who is already is currently working within a Building Surveying role for at least 1-2 years but looking for a new challenge with a growing consultancy with huge scope of career progression and development.

  • Providing professional building surveying duties including building inspections, acquisition surveys, dilapidations, contract administration, maintenance and refurbishment projects, schedules of condition and party wall awards.
  • Internal and external communication to ensure that all projects are successfully implemented & completed
  • Maintaining and developing existing client relationships as well as bringing new clients on board
  • Developing relevant knowledge through CPD activities to keep up to date with legislation that could affect any technical aspects of the Building Surveying role
  • Must be working towards APC qualification

This role will have a strong focus on dilapidations – so experience within this area is essential to be considered for this building surveying position.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Building Surveying and be chartered. You will have post qualification experience and have experience dealing with a wide range of advice across the building sector. You ideally will have the ability to generate new business and have strong negotiation skills as well as a track record in achieving fee targets.

CS2 are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the team in our Bristol office.

You will be responsible for providing full project and cost management services as well as employers agent and contract administration to the clients of the business across a range of sectors, as well as giving support and advice to other members of the team.

  • Provide professional project management, cost management and employers agent/contract administration services including developing the client’s initial requirements and subsequent development of the full brief.       Advise on selection and appointment of the professional team, review design and concept proposals, appraise and advise on alternative design proposals, prepare master strategic programme (monitored and updated), establish and manage communication procedures, advise on suitable tendering arrangements, advise on and collate scheme requirements and specification. In conjunction with other members of the professional team, prepare employer’s requirements documentation, undertake the role of employer’s agent as defined under the building contract through the construction period, arranging, chairing and minute monthly progress, design and other meeting as necessary, including chasing and managing actions. On completion carry out inspections, advise on the issue of practical completion certificate, schedule of defects and outstanding works and monitor rectification of defects up to the end of the rectification period.       You will also be responsible for the cost management of the scheme from inception to completion including cost planning, preparation of tender documentation and contract documentation, on site valuations, interim payment application etc. On larger schemes you will mentor and work alongside other CS2 cost management surveyors and assist with their professional development.
