The Solution
CS2 were engaged to provide design and project management of
the conversion of four first floor flats to nursery space over an
existing and operational pre-school.
Following on from a building inspection report of the upper floors
and the production of feasibility layouts, a detailed cost plan was
provided by our in-house QS allowing for a feasibility and appraisal
stage in which an appropriate budget was identified.
Project manager Jonny Grove was able to utilise the QS prepared
budget in order to assist Care Room Ltd securing a grant from the
local authority.
Careful consideration was required when acting in the capacity of
Principal Designer in order to maintain the safe operation of the
nursery school. Works were phased in order to avoid disruption
and maintain appropriate access and egress from the site.
