The Challenge

Grove Primary School wished to redevelop the front and rear playgrounds to reflect the vibrancy of the school.  The main challenge for the client was to ensure the redevelopment adhered to the tight budget constraints due to funding.  The school also required planning permission for the scheme due to the building being Grade II listed.

The Solution

CS2 were employed by Grove Primary School to undertake both pre and post contract services in relation to the re-development of their front and rear playgrounds. The school is a vibrant environment and this needed to be reflected in the design, while adhering to funding and planning constraints, including obtaining planning consent for the two schemes as part of a Grade II Listed school building. CS2 were responsible for the production of tender documentation on a design and build basis, analysing tender submissions and assisting in contractor selection. CS2 were also employed by the school to undertake extensive post contract services involved monitoring of progress as well as costs in relation to valuations, variations and the successful negotiation of an acceptable final account value.

CS2 have been retained by the school to undertake further projects on their behalf for similar forthcoming projects.
