The Challenge
The ten-year renewal date for domestic EPC’s was looming with no up to date visibility into building energy performance of the residential student
accommodation and how the properties perform to MEES Regulations. Many properties already had F and G ratings which threatened investment of £1,000’s per property to improve the ratings.
The Solution
CS2 Sustainability Department delivered a pre-inspection presentation to the Estates Team allowing the landlords to prepare the right evidence and to ensure measures were undertaken to improve the properties energy efficiency.
Employing the correct methodology and conventions CS2 safeguarded that all properties met the MEES standards to allow all properties to be let, moreover achieved above national average standards for domestic property energy ratings.
