Birmingham has been continually growing year on year and 2014 was a strong year for the city. Birmingham enjoyed a very successful 2014 across office, industrial and retail markets.
According to GVA’s latest Regional Investment Market Outlook report there was £789.2m injected in to Birmingham’s office, industrial and retail markets last year.
The key retail transactions include the acquisition of the Great Western Arcade by CBRE GI for £15.1m which CS2 were involved in.
CBRE were looking to acquire a 30,948ft² Grade II city centre shopping arcade, and required a full understanding of the property condition prior to purchase.
Therefore, CS2 carried out a thorough building inspection report of the city centre premises’, in contemplation of our client acquiring the freehold interest of the property. As part of the inspection, CS2 deployed specialist building services, highlighted potential issues with mechanical and electrical installations, and carried out a phase 1 environmental survey. Working with our client’s legal team CS2 advised on the current leasehold obligations and completed our inspection to determine the condition of the building fabric and mechanical and electrical services.
