Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme

In 2014 the UK government brought into play the ESOS (Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme) Statutory Regulations meaning all Large Entities must take 3 actions every 4 years:

  • Measure the energy used by the organisation over a 12-month period
  • Conduct Energy Audits on their areas of significant consumption
  • Report compliance to the Environment Agency.

There are several methodologies to comply with regulations and guidelines, however CS2’s team of Energy and Sustainability experts have the capability to match the best fit method to your requirements. To comply with the regulations, a Lead Energy Assessor is required to conduct an ESOS Assessment with the organisation.  Automatic compliance can be achieved by providing evidence that the organisation has achieved ISO 50001, the ISO standard for best practice energy management across the group.

CS2 can provide Lead Assessor Services to deliver Energy Audits to the required BS EN 16247 standards specified by the ESOS statute.  Phase II is coming and budgets require formulation and audits planned to meet the deadline of the 5th December 2019.
