The Challenge
CS2 were appointed to undertake space planning and project manage the fit out of the Client’s new office space. Grant Thornton, who were previously located in Silbury Boulevard in Milton Keynes, signed a pre-let on 2000 square metres of grade A office space, over three floors, in Victoria House, Milton Keynes. CS2 had previously monitored the construction of the building.
The Solution
The space is designed to accommodate up to 220 people. There are 170 fixed work places with a further 80 to 100 alternative places to work in quiet rooms, workshops, touch down spaces, quiet pods, phone booths and meeting spaces. By reducing storage and filing space, the design allowed more alternative workspaces to be provided. Central printer points are provided on each wing together with personnel locker locations. By introducing workbenches with sit/stand options, the design encourages collaborative working and creates workplace options for the various staff personalities and demographics within the business.
