The Challenge

CS2 encountered many issues on site, for instance planning permission was declined mid way through the works as Camden council were not happy with TK Maxx shop front design. There were various damp issues in the basement which were only discovered when exposed and we such we had to make significant alterations to the specification whilst keeping close liaison with TK Maxx.

The Solution

CS2 worked with the contractor to initially undertake works which could be done whilst socially distanced. The programme was developed with the contractor to ensure enough time was allowed for to ensure operatives were not ‘working on top of each other’ (as lockdown was announced as we started on site). We worked very closely with Camden Planning and their conservation officers to develop a new scheme which both TK Maxx and the council would be happy with. Working closely with structural engineers and damp specialists, we were able to provide a water proof solution to the basement areas.
