The Solution
Working alongside the Bilstein team, CS2 acted as Project Monitor for the design and development of their new fully automated storage and distribution facility. Maintaining a thorough understanding of Bilstein and their organisation, CS2 were also appointed to provide cost advice on both the base build and fit out elements of the project. This offered a holistic view on the project, whilst giving us the ability to manage costs and minimise risk.
Throughout the project, CS2’s dedicated representative, Mike Gregory, undertook regular monitoring inspections of the new distribution centre and represented Bilstein at all project team meetings; reporting back to the UK Board on issues relating to programme, regulatory/statutory impacts, standard of construction, and relevant health and safety considerations. With our detailed knowledge of construction techniques and innovations we were able to significantly improve both the functionality and cost efficiency of the project. In this role, CS2’s Project Managers were able to offer commercial advice to the client from start to finish.
Finally, Mike Gregory acted as Project Manager, providing an interface between the Developer’s base build team, the automation contractors and other directly appointed specialists.
