CS2 Hold Their Annual Conference at Ashridge House

Another year, another CS2 conference complete. CS2 held their annual conference at the beautiful Ashridge House. This stunning venue, in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, brought together our teams from seven offices from across the UK for a day of celebrating the last years success.
Discovering Ashridge House: A Brief History
Over the centuries, the property changed hands multiple times until it was acquired by the Egerton family in the 16th century. The present house was built in the early 19th century by the 7th Earl of Bridgewater.
Throughout its history, Ashridge House has witnessed significant events, and its stunning architecture and picturesque gardens have hosted many illustrious guests. Today, it serves as a renowned conference venue, providing an inspiring atmosphere for various gatherings, including the CS2 Annual Conference.
Morning Agenda: Registration and Keynote Address
The CS2 Annual Conference kicked off at 9:00 am with registration and breakfast. As attendees arrived, the networking buzz filled the air as all office came together.
At 9:30 am, the conference officially commenced with a welcome keynote speech from Andrew Mather, Managing Director, an influential figure in the company. His insightful address sets the tone for the day, encouraging participants to make the most of the opportunities to learn and grow within CS2.
Insights into Financial Performance
Following the keynote, the conference delves into the realm of financial performance. Samuel Asher-Relf took to the stage to share valuable insights and strategies for achieving financial excellence. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of how the performance of the company is measured along with ways this can be optimised by staff at CS2.
AI Takeover & Workshop
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of technological advancements, and Gabby Simms, shed light on this intriguing topic. The presentation explored the potential impact of AI within the built environment, emphasising the importance of understanding and harnessing this technology responsibly so that CS2 can be at the forefront of change.
Efficiency and Time Management
Time is a valuable resource, and Adam Bardell’s presentation entered on boosting productivity and efficiency. Attendees gained practical tips and tools to streamline their workflows, such as time blocking, which can lead to an improved work-life balance and increased effectiveness in their professional roles.
Finding Your Development Niche
Next, saw Oliver Ferris take centre stage with a panel of highly sought out guests (our surveyors) in a mini-interview style approach that helped others dive deeper into finding their Business Development niche. The aim of the session was to understand how surveyors in different stages of their careers approach business development to help others find a strategy that works best for them.
Unlocking Behavioural Insights: 2-hour sessions with Vic O’Farrell
Vic O’Farrell’s interactive session provided a unique opportunity for attendees to gain a deeper understanding of their behaviour and values. Through thought-provoking exercises and discussions, participants uncovered valuable insights about themselves and their motivations, fostering personal and professional growth. The session also enabled everyone to understand how to approach other people’s behaviours and communication styles to be able to further build working relationships.
Celebrating Excellence: Awards Presentation
As the day was coming to a close, Andrew Mather presented CS2’s Surveyor of the Year Award and Supporting Staff Outstanding Award which was presented to Sonny Wilson and Max Ely for their hard work and dedication to the company. The day was finally rounded off by dinner and drinks🍻☕
