Provision of new access road to public highway

The Challenge

The client required reconfiguration and provision of a new access road on to public highway, however needed assistance in undertaking the competitive tender process and obtaining approval of Section 278.

The Solution

CS2 initially provided pre-contract services, including the production of a bill of quantities, and undertook the competitive process on behalf of the client; issuing all required tender documentation. Subsequent to the tender process, CS2 provided post-contract expertise and undertook valuation including variation negotiations, financial reporting, and the final account settlement. CS2 oversaw the complex works, and ensured the access road had Section 278 approval and was in accordance with Herts Highway requirements by liaising with the Borough Council.  Due to the works the client was able to dispose of a property which had been sat vacant for a number of years primarily due to the inherent access issues prior to the reconfiguration works.
