I think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been a strange and testing year for businesses and individuals alike. Here at CS2 we took a break from our usual social media presence to focus on working closely with our clients during the pandemic. We have continued to offer specialist advice to our clients whilst adhering to changing government and industry guidance. We have worked seamlessly to deliver industry leading services safely and successfully. During our break we have been busier than ever! Here is a look at just a few things we’ve been up to:
Our Bid Manager Rachel has been busy working with all of our regional teams and we have successfully been awarded a place on 4 large frameworks. One of the frameworks is a new client for CS2, Thames Water! We have been awarded a place on their Lifecycle Framework for Design Services and look forward to delivering projects for their estate.
We have also been awarded a spot on the Efficiency North EN Procure Framework for building surveying services in the North West, East Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber – we look forward to building relationships with all EN Procure clients and bolstering our strong public sector client offering.
We will be announcing details on our other 2 framework successes and the opportunities they can present for our clients soon!
During the last few months CS2 were appointed as CA and QS for a mixed-use development situated in Stratford Road Birmingham. The value is circa £6 million and is anticipated to be on site in Spring 2021. This is a very exciting project for a new client to CS2; the works comprise of Ground Floor retail units, first floor office space and three upper floors of residential apartments.
In addition, Phase 2 of the YMCA site in Central Milton Keyes started on site in July, with CS2 acting as EA and QS. CS2’s client is Peveril Securities, being a repeat client to CS2 and working on behalf of Grainger plc who have purchased the building for the private rental sector.
This project is a PRS scheme with value of circa £42 million, it comprises two separate blocks, linked by a bridge at 1st floor level as well as retail units and car park on the ground and first floors. The upper floors are residential apartments, 261 in total. The project is anticipated to be complete in 3Q 2022.
Although our Edinburgh Office opened just a few weeks before lockdown, our Scotland representative Simon Hottinger has been kept very busy helping a range of clients with a variety of ongoing projects throughout the pandemic. Keep an eye out for a further blog on everything ‘CS2 Edinburgh’ in a few weeks!
Finally, CS2 have been excited to announce our involvement with the new Headquarters for Poundland. This project has been ongoing since the end of last year, with it being managed by Northampton Office Head Mark Edwards.
