The Challenge

RAF Brize Norton were looking to redesign the main entrance into the base because it had increased in size and traffic was becoming a problem both in and out of the entrance causing long delays for people going in and out and also for people driving past on the public road.

The Solution

CS2 were asked to carry out a feasibility study on the Main Entrance at RAF Brize Norton, the largest base in the Royal Air Force. The study involved the collection and interpretation of detailed traffic data in order to produce potential solutions to access, parking and vehicle movement in and out of the base.  It also involved a  complete redesign of the current main entrance to solve all the issues highlighted.

The new design was costed and a programme of works put together and presented to the base.

Detailed design work is shortly to be started on the project which will hopefully see the design implemented in the near future.
